Members of the Crestview community are coming together in faith, prayer, and support as they face two deeply difficult situations involving individuals connected to their church family and local community.
One of the primary concerns shared with the congregation involves Greg McCauley, who was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle on his way to work. Greg has been included on the community prayer list in recent weeks as family, friends, and fellow church members have prayed for his recovery. According to information shared with the congregation, Greg’s condition remains critical, and doctors have informed the family that his chances for meaningful recovery are extremely limited.
Greg’s loved ones have remained faithfully by his side throughout this heartbreaking journey. His aunt, Judy Kennedy, has been among those spending time with him at Allegheny Health Network facilities, offering support and comfort during these challenging days. Church leaders have asked the community to continue lifting Greg and his family in prayer while also respecting their need for privacy and space as they navigate this painful situation.
The Crestview family is also mourning the sudden passing of Lynn Himmelwright, who reportedly died from what appears to have been a massive heart attack. A graduate of Seneca Valley High School’s Class of 1986, Lynn spent much of her life in Butler and was known to many throughout the community.
Lynn attended Crestview Church for a period of time alongside Lynda Weinel and shared a close relationship with Billy Spiegel, who passed away in November 2024. According to her obituary, Billy was not only her boyfriend but also her best friend and true love. Those who knew Lynn remember her with affection and are extending condolences to the Himmelwright, Spiegel, and Weinel families during this time of loss.
As these events weigh heavily on the hearts of many, members of the Crestview community are leaning on their faith and supporting one another through prayer. Church leaders continue to encourage the congregation to remember Greg, Lynn’s loved ones, and all individuals listed on the community prayer list.
In times of sorrow and uncertainty, the Crestview family remains united in compassion, faith, and hope, trusting in God’s grace and peace to sustain those who are grieving and hurting.
